The characteristics of the hedgehog

The hedgehog is one of the cutest and most loved wild animals, thanks to its characteristic rounded shape and the thorns that cover it. It is a mammal belonging to the Erinaceidae family, widespread in Europe, Asia and Africa.

The hedgehog has a very particular and recognizable appearance: its body is covered with spines up to 3 cm long, which allow it to defend itself from predators. Hedgehog spines are actually modified hairs made of keratin, the same material that human hair and nails are made of. The color of the hedgehog's spines can vary from light brown to black, depending on the species and the geographical area in which it lives.

The body of the hedgehog is rounded and rather small. It has short, sturdy legs, with sharp claws that allow it to dig in the earth in search of food. The hedgehog's head is also rounded, with an elongated snout and small, rounded ears.

The hedgehog is a nocturnal animal, which feeds on insects, snails, worms, spiders and other small animals that it finds in the ground or among the leaves of trees. It is able to move with great agility and speed, thanks to its short but robust legs.

The hedgehog is a solitary animal, which lives in burrows or nests built among the roots of trees or under bushes. During the winter, the hedgehog hibernates, decreasing its metabolism and reducing its physical activity to conserve energy.

Molto carino,semplice e ben fatto

All'interno è cavo e presenta la scritta made in Italy.
